How do I manage machines from multiple manufacturers in one account?
By Gerd Bart, Founder and Managing Director · Updated
The short answer
With one account in which every machine has its own record, whoever built it. It holds the manual, the spare parts catalog, maintenance and the service history. You order spare parts directly from each manufacturer, and the Service Brain answers questions about every machine, with the source. One factory. Machines from many manufacturers. In one account.
Why it is so tedious today
The answer to a fault usually exists somewhere already: in the manual, in last year's service report, in a colleague's head. On top of that, every machine builder has its own portal, its own hotline and its own shop. With nine manufacturers, that means nine logins, nine shops and nine ways to the right part.
What belongs in the account
One record per machine.
Manufacturer, year built, documents, parts lists and everything that was done to the machine, from day one.
Maintenance and tickets.
Maintenance due, open faults and orders for every machine at a glance.
Ordering from the manufacturer.
The right part at the manufacturer's price, without a chain of phone calls.
The Service Brain.
It knows your manuals and your history and answers with the source, across all manufacturers.
Live data, if you want it.
The IoT Hub connects machines via OPC UA, Modbus TCP, REST or MQTT. Everything else works without a connection.
How your machines get in
You add your machines.
With your own documents, just as they are today.
You tell us your manufacturers.
We invite them. Those on board bring their parts and their service into your account.
Your systems stay.
Your maintenance system keeps running. The Service Brain draws on its maintenance and fault history as an additional source.
Already on board, among others: United Grinding, Studer, Walter, Blohm, Schubert, Zollern and Kaltenbach.
What it costs
Machine records, maintenance, tickets, ordering and all users are free. The Service Brain costs €5 per machine per month, with no minimum term.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to connect my machines?
No. Machine records, maintenance, ordering and the Service Brain work without a connection. Live data comes in through the IoT Hub, if you want it.
What if a manufacturer isn't on board yet?
Then you add the machine with your own documents, and we invite the manufacturer.
Who owns the data?
You do. Data and knowledge created in your account belong to you.
How secure is it?
We work in line with ISO/IEC 27001, the SOC 2 criteria and NIS-2. Operated in Frankfurt, Germany. You'll find contracts and documents in the Trust Center.
