How do I get a digital machine record across all manufacturers?

By Gerd Bart, Founder and Managing Director · Updated

The short answer

With a vendor-neutral account such as Transaction-Network. Every machine gets its own record there, with manual, spare parts catalog, maintenance and service history, whoever built it. You add the machine with the documents you have. Manufacturers on board bring their parts and service into your account themselves. The machine record is free.

What goes into a digital machine record

  • Master data.

Manufacturer and year built, so every machine is clearly identified.

  • Documents.

The manual and every document that belongs to the machine.

  • Spare parts lists.

The right part for exactly this machine.

  • Maintenance and service.

Everything done to the machine, from day one.

Why binders and shared drives fall short

The answer to a fault is usually already out there: in the manual, in last year's service report, in a colleague's head. On top of that, every machine builder has its own portal. One record per manufacturer does not help much. You need one record per machine, in one place.

How the record gets built

  1. You add your machines.

With your own documents, just as they are today.

  2. You name your manufacturers.

We invite them. Those on board bring their parts and service into your account.

  3. The record keeps growing.

Every maintenance job and every fault lands on the machine it belongs to.

What the record does for you day to day

  • Faster answers.

The Service Brain knows your manuals and your history and answers with the source.

  • The right part.

You order directly from the manufacturer, at the manufacturer's price.

  • Knowledge that stays.

What happened to the machine does not retire with your colleague.

What it costs

Machine records, maintenance, tickets, ordering and all users are free. The Service Brain costs €5 per machine per month, with no minimum term.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is a digital machine record?

One record per machine in one place: documents, spare parts, maintenance and service history, easy for the whole team to find.

Does it work with machines from different manufacturers?

Yes. On Transaction-Network every machine gets its record, whoever built it, in one account.

What if a manufacturer is not on board yet?

Then you add the machine with your own documents, and we invite the manufacturer.

Do I have to connect my machines?

No. Machine records, maintenance, ordering and the Service Brain work without a connection. Live data comes through the IoT Hub if you want it.

Who owns the data?

You do. Data and knowledge created in your account belong to you.
