Privacy policy

We only set cookies on this website with your consent. We want to know which companies visit us, not which people. Personal data is processed when your browser requests the pages, when you book an appointment, submit a form or write to us. This page explains what happens in each case.

Controller

The controller for data processing on this website is Transaction-Network GmbH & Co. KG, Industriepark 312, 78244 Gottmadingen, Germany. Phone: +49 7731 16923-0, email: contact@transaction-network.com.

The company is represented by its general partner Transaction-Network Management GmbH, represented in turn by its managing director Gerd Bart.

Data protection officer

We have appointed an external data protection officer: Ulrich Emmert, attorney, e|s|b data GmbH, Schockenriedstr. 8A, 70565 Stuttgart, Germany. Email: info@esb-data.de, phone: +49 711 46905830.

Hosting and server logs

This website consists of static pages without a database. We run it on Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg, in the Frankfurt am Main region. We have a data processing agreement with Amazon Web Services.

Whenever a page is requested, your browser transmits technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the requested address, the page you came from, and your browser and operating system. We process this data only to deliver the pages and keep operations secure, and we do not combine it with other data. The logs are deleted automatically after 14 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Documents for download, such as our terms and conditions and white papers, are hosted at downloads.transaction-network.com, also on Amazon Web Services. The same applies there.

Cookies and consent

On your first visit, a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics and Snitcher (the next two sections). Without your consent, neither of them runs. The banner stores your choice in a cookie named «CookieConsent»; the banner itself shows which cookies exist and how long they last. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the round cookie icon at the bottom left of every page.

The banner is provided by Usercentrics A/S, Havnegade 39, 1058 Copenhagen, Denmark, with its Cookiebot service. Your choice and technical details of the request are sent to Cookiebot, which stores the data on servers in the EU (Ireland). The legal basis is our legal obligation to obtain and document consent (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG).

We do not use advertising. We serve our fonts ourselves; your browser does not connect to Google Fonts or any other font service.

Audience measurement with Google Analytics

If you consent to the «Statistics» category in the banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how our website is used: which pages are viewed, where visitors come from and how often someone clicks a booking button or books an appointment. For this, Google Analytics sets cookies and processes information about your browser, device and use of the pages. According to Google, your IP address is only used to determine your approximate location and is not stored for visitors from the EU. Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time via the cookie icon.

The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA.

Company identification with Snitcher

We want to know which companies are interested in what we offer. For this we use Snitcher. If you have consented, your browser connects to Snitcher when you open a page; Snitcher receives your IP address, the pages you view and how long you stay. From the IP address, Snitcher determines which company the internet connection belongs to. We see the company and its page views, not your IP address and not your name.

Snitcher only runs if you consent to the «Marketing» category in the banner. It then stores an identifier as a cookie and in your browser's storage so it can attribute your visits to the same company; it lasts one year. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time via the cookie icon.

The provider is Snitcher B.V., Oude Enghweg 2, 1217 JC Hilversum, the Netherlands. Snitcher processes the data with Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. More information in Snitcher's privacy policy at snitcher.com/privacy-policy.

Appointment booking via HubSpot

When you click a button such as «Book a demo» or «Book a call», a HubSpot booking calendar opens in a window on our page. Only this click connects your browser to HubSpot. HubSpot then receives your IP address, the address of the page from which you open the calendar, and a random identifier that applies to this page view only. Without a click, nothing is sent to HubSpot.

If you book an appointment, we process the details you enter there, such as name, email address, company and your message, to hold the appointment and answer your request. The legal basis is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). HubSpot's privacy notice also applies inside the booking window; HubSpot may set its own cookies there.

The provider is HubSpot, Inc., Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Our account is hosted in HubSpot's European data centre. HubSpot is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; we have a data processing agreement with HubSpot.

Forms: contact, white paper and CRA check

You can write to us using the contact form on the «About» page; for this you enter your first name, last name, company, email address and your message, and optionally your phone number and your role. On the pages for machine builders you can request a white paper or discuss the result of the CRA check with us. For this you enter your first name, last name and email address, and for the CRA check also your company; the result of the check is sent along. The check runs only in your browser; your answers leave your device only when you submit the form.

The forms are delivered to us by email through the Web3Forms service; your IP address is transmitted as well. Web3Forms is operated by Web3Creative, which operates from India, and processes your details on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Web3Creative uses Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare and Hetzner for this; to prevent spam, your IP address and email address may be passed to the CleanTalk and Akismet services. Transfers from the EU are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which form part of that agreement (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Web3Forms stores the details for at most three years and then deletes them automatically. We use your details to send you the white paper and to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Email and phone

If you write to us or call us, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We receive and process emails with Microsoft 365; the provider is Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, Dublin, Ireland.

Status display in the Trust Center

The Trust Center shows the current operating status of our software. For this, your browser calls a public status interface of Statuspage when you open the page, without cookies and without sending the address of our page. The provider receives your IP address. The providers are Atlassian Pty Ltd, Sydney, Australia, and Atlassian, Inc., USA; Atlassian, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping you informed about operations (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Job applications

Open positions and applications are handled through Personio (Personio SE & Co. KG, Munich, Germany). When you switch to Personio, the privacy notice for applicants on Personio's site applies.

Links to other websites

Links to LinkedIn, associations, partners and Personio open in a new window. You only leave our site when you click; the privacy notice of the respective provider then applies. We do not embed social media content.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data as long as the purpose requires: requests and appointments until they are settled and beyond that for as long as a business relationship exists or is being initiated. Statutory retention obligations, for example under commercial and tax law, remain unaffected; after that we delete the data.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

Right to object: Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then stop processing this data unless there are compelling legitimate grounds or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.

For any questions about data protection, contact us at contact@transaction-network.com or our data protection officer at info@esb-data.de.

Encryption

All pages are transmitted encrypted (TLS). You can tell by «https://» and the padlock in your browser's address bar.

Changes

When the website or the services we use change, we update this policy. The version published here applies.
