Gottmadingen, 2nd November 2022 – By combining a smart digital platform and a digital 3D twin, the two companies jointly offer a holistic solution for mechanical and plant engineering.
- Transaction-Network – the smart digital platform for mechanical engineering
- Side Effects – interactive showroom for the digital 3D twin
Side Effects specializes in automatically converting 3D CAD data into a digital 3D twin and making it usable in an interactive 3D space for marketing, service, training and production. This creates innovative, 3D-supported work instructions, product presentations, monitoring systems and much more. Companies have the opportunity to present their products live and interactively in 3D.
Transaction-Network’s customer portal software provides a digital platform for all interactions between the machine builder and its customers. The portal covers all after-sales service processes and closely interlinks them. All relevant machine information is bundled on one platform, thus creating the basis for the digital twin. Users access any of these machine information and documents, can also conveniently identify spare and wear parts via a digital spare parts catalog and order them via the online store, schedule their maintenance and services, and monitor the equipment.
“In the integrated spare parts catalog on our platform, we can already visualize CAD drawings and enable the identification of the correct spare and wear parts through hotspotting. Through the cooperation with Side Effects, it will also be possible to generate the 3D twin from the CAD data in the future. This will enhance the customer experience even more,” explains Gerd Bart and adds, “Side Effects, on the other hand, benefits from Transaction-Network as the underlying platform on which all the data and documents relating to the machine are stored and on which after-sales processes such as spare parts orders, service requests and monitoring applications can be triggered.”
Transaction-Network and Side Effects were already jointly represented at this year’s Engineering Summit on October 11 and 12, 2022. “In discussions with customers, we have received very positive feedback on the joint solution and are very much looking forward to the future potential that will result from the partnership,” summarizes Gerd Bart.
